Utah Public Radio has named Frank Mueller its new station manager. Mueller will lead UPR’s efforts to provide news, public affairs, cultural programming and community-focused content to listeners across Utah. He succeeds longtime leaders Kerry Bringhurst and Tom Williams, who retired this summer from the Logan-based station. Mueller will also serve as professional practice faculty in Utah State University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Mueller has decades of experience in public and commercial broadcasting, radio management and higher education. Mueller joins UPR following senior management roles at Penn State University’s news/talk WPSU-FM State College, PA (91.5). Throughout his career, he has overseen broadcast operations, programming, audience development and student engagement initiatives at university-affiliated media organizations. His public media career began at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he managed station operations before becoming general manager. Mueller later owned and operated a small radio group in Utah Valley and taught at Utah Valley University before returning to public broadcasting at Penn State.
