Pacific West LLC, a premier rail and industrial infrastructure services company backed by Bluejay Capital Partners, has acquired Coleman Industrial Construction, a Kansas City, Missouri-based provider of construction, renovation, environmental, maintenance and repair services for rail and industrial facilities.
“CIC brings decades of rail and industrial expertise, its strong reputation in the Midwest, and its service lines as a direct extension of what we already do across the country,” said Bob Weber, CEO of Pacific West, in a release.
Coleman’s Kansas City operations extend Pacific West’s footprint into the Midwest, adding to its existing presence in Salt Lake City, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Phoenix.
“Paul and Stephanie Freeman built a business grounded in quality and client service, and we are glad to have Paul joining our team as we continue to grow the platform nationally,” Weber said.
Founded in 1979, Coleman primarily serves Class I railroads. The company builds, renovates, maintains and repairs railroad and industrial facilities, including locomotive servicing and fueling systems, yard air systems and railcar maintenance facilities, as well as wastewater, stormwater and related mechanical and environmental infrastructure.
“Pacific West was the right fit for our customers and our team, given our shared expertise in specialty rail and environmental contracting,” said Paul Freeman, owner of Coleman Industrial Construction and now member of the business development team at Pacific West. “We look forward to using the resources of the combined platform to extend our reach and serve our customers across the country.”
The acquisition is Pacific West’s third add-on since Bluejay's initial investment, following the acquisitions of Eagle Remediation & Demolition Services in December 2022 and Overley’s and Hawkke in July 2023.
