Deer Valley has named Sam Phelan as the resort's executive chef, overseeing the resort's culinary offerings. Phelan has more than two decades of culinary experience, with a career that includes positions from Stowe Mountain Resort to Napa Valley's Calistoga Ranch. He has held leadership roles at destinations including Montage Deer Valley and Waldorf Astoria Park City. He joined Deer Valley in 2022 as executive chef at Silver Lake Lodge, before his promotion to resort executive sous chef in 2024.
