The Utah Inland Port Authority has hired Hadden Wiese as marketing manager, Sam Steffensen as senior accountant, and Zane Zhu as financial analyst.
Wiese will lead efforts for the Northwest Quadrant (NWQ) and promote the opportunities available to companies looking to establish or expand their operations in Utah. He previously spent more than six years in the equipment financing industry, where he built and led a marketing program spanning strategy, paid media, content and analytics.
Steffensen helps ensure UIPA's finances are managed accurately, responsibly and transparently. A CPA, Steffensen leads UIPA's month- and year-end closing processes, oversees fixed assets and accounts payable, and supports compliance requirements associated with federal grants and tax incentives. Before joining UIPA, she spent six years with the Utah Office of the State Auditor, conducting financial audits, federal single audits and special projects. Steffensen earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Westminster University and a Master of Accounting from the University of Utah. She also mentors accounting and finance students, providing career guidance and helping prepare the next generation of financial professionals.
Zhu supports financial modeling, forecasting, budget analysis and data-driven decision-making for UIPA's infrastructure and economic development initiatives. He has experience in financial planning, investment analysis, risk management and process automation. Before joining UIPA, he developed automated reporting tools at Old Mill Building Products and held financial roles with Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators and Goldman Sachs. Zhu's education includes a bachelor of science in finance and information systems from the University of Utah.
